Dispute Resolution
Overview
Dispute Resolution is the process of solving a disagreement for two or more parties. Civil litigation is a part of dispute resolution but dispute resolution usually refers to Alternative Dispute Resolution or ADR.
ADR can come in several forms, such as mediation and adjudication. Both of these processes will usually require an arbitrator or an ombudsman. Once a final decision has been made, it is very difficult to overturn or challenge the decision of the arbitrator or ombudsman. Therefore, you should spend a lot of time considering whether going through with Alternative Dispute Resolution is worthwhile.
