Definition
Advocacy is when a solicitor or an other legal professional puts their client's case to the court in either written or spoken form. A solicitor hereby attends the court to represent a client and to defend their rights.
Advocacy requires the advocate to address the court confidently and persuasively and to present their case in a manner which is clear, well organized and efficient.
Written advocacy includes the use of arguments, briefs, pleadings and letters, these can be send on behalf of you to the court or to the opposition.
